Medical disclaimer
Food Library provides general information about nutrition and helps you keep track of what you eat. The app is not a medical device and gives no medical advice. The information in the app never replaces the advice of a doctor, dietitian or other healthcare professional.
Absorption of vitamins and minerals
Every body absorbs vitamins and minerals differently. How much water you drink in a day, when you eat, what you combine a food with, how it’s prepared and how fresh it is also decide how much of which vitamins and minerals you absorb. If you want to know whether you’re short of a vitamin or mineral, consult your doctor.
Estimates
- Your energy expenditure, daily targets, expected target date and calories burned are estimates based on general formulas. Your actual needs may differ.
- Nutrition values come from databases and labels and may differ from the product you eat.
- The AI photo scan doesn’t always recognise foods in photos correctly. Always check what the app suggests.
- The reference values are general values for healthy adults. Different values often apply to children, pregnant or breastfeeding women, older people and people with a medical condition.
Talk to a healthcare professional
Talk to your doctor or a dietitian before making big changes to your diet, especially if you:
- are pregnant or breastfeeding;
- have or have had an eating disorder;
- have diabetes, a kidney, heart or other condition, or take medication;
- are younger than 18 or older than 70;
- want to lose or gain a lot of weight.
If you notice that tracking your food makes you anxious or that you think about it all the time, talk to your doctor.
Supplements
The app gives no advice of its own on supplements. Where the app mentions a supplement, such as vitamin D, that is a health authority’s general advice for people in your situation, not advice tailored to you. Preferably take supplements in consultation with a doctor or pharmacist and stick to the recommended amounts; too much of some vitamins and minerals can be harmful.
