Cookies and local storage
Last updated: 2 October 2026
The Food Library app uses no cookies, no advertising and no trackers or analytics services of other companies.
To make the app work, the app does keep a few things on your own device:
- Your sign-in session, stored securely in the iOS Keychain, so you don’t have to sign in again every time.
- Your settings, such as light or dark, your reminders and whether the step counter and Apple Health are switched on.
- Your profile photo, if you have chosen one.
- Temporary copies of data that hasn’t been sent to your account yet, for example when you were offline for a moment.
- Which parts of the app have already been counted today, so that each part counts at most once a day (see below).
This storage is needed to make the app work, or to count its use without keeping track of who you are, which is why we don’t ask for separate consent. The data does not leave your device (apart from what is stored in your account; see the privacy policy). Your sign-in session is removed when you sign out or delete your account, your profile photo and reminders when you delete your account, and the rest when you remove the app from your device.
When the app opens a page from Apple, for example to manage your subscription, Apple’s rules apply there.
Counting how the app is used
We count on how many devices the app is opened on a day and which parts are used. For this the app only reports that a part was used that day, with your country and whether your account has Premium. We keep this as totals per day, without a record of who it was, and use no other company’s service for it.

This website sets no cookies of its own. We do keep track of how often the website is visited, using the statistics of Cloudflare, the company that delivers the website. This is done without cookies and without following you across other websites: we only see totals, such as the number of visits, the pages viewed, the country and the kind of device. In doing so Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and may set a technical cookie for security.
